The AGS Spring 2016  Seminar speaker is George G. Morgan. His program theme is “It’s All in the Details.” Lecture titles include: The Genealogist as CSI, Bring ‘Em Back to Life, Clues in the News, and Getting Past Brick Walls. Seminar costs: $40 for non-members, $35 for members. Lunch on your own either at the  campus cafeteria or at the food court next to the Beeson Building. Registration must be received by March 4, 2016 to include your information in the surname booklet.  You are urged to register early to insure you get handouts. Georgia Archives- Morrow, Ga.   Georgia Archives Preservation Manager/Conservator Kim Norman and her staff will speak on Friday, March 11. The program will cover the wide range of projects being undertaken, such as inventorying and repairing early Georgia maps, ongoing reference bookbinding, assistance to other institutions, such as Auburn Avenue Research Library, county records processing and exhibit planning.

Ann Blomquist is a retired high school mathematics teacher with more than 40 years of genealogy experience. She is the author of 13 genealogical books including family histories, court records, church vestry records, and store account books. She is the administrator of the East Tennessee Historical Society’s First Families of Tennessee project, the editor of the Jefferson County Genealogical Society Quarterly and presents at Genealogy Conferences
